Detroit Forsaken

A pale dog stands on the overgrown foundation of an abolished house. This eastside neighborhood was part of a city-initiated plan to buy out property owners in order to create a buffer zone along City Airport. The eighteen-month project has yet to be completed, sixteen years later. Remaining homeowners are left to live amongst vast sections of neighborhood streets with dilapidated houses, empty lots and overgrowth.
